Pedstats Tutorial -- Using a Mendel file format
A description of the MENDEL pedigree file format may be found on the website for SIMWALK2.
The MENDEL data file format assumed by PEDSTATS is one where
each section in the data file begins with two eight character fields
(marker name, followed by the word "AUTOSOME" or "X-LINKED") followed
by the number of alleles (a 2 digit integer) and the number of phenotypes (a 3 digit integer).
